The Understanding by Design (UdB) framework was introduced to me by John Hart of Marriott. John is a former middle-school teacher and he is applying the UbD framework – originally developed for K-12 – to corporate training. It is all new to me, but from what I can tell, I think the corporate training world can benefit from some of the concepts in this model. I’m especially intrigued by the “Big Ideas.”
