Background on RealTime Leadership 360

In August 1987, the Unites States Congress created the National Baldrige Quality Award to recognize companies and organizations that excel in quality and leadership. This annual award is granted to companies that exhibit superior performance along a series of well-defined dimensions reflective of a high-quality and well-led organization. However, there is no parallel assessment of individual leaders in a quality organization. The Baldrige Award assesses organizations does little to assess leadership competencies.

RealTime Performance commissioned a team of consultants to create the RealTime Leadership Profile based on the Baldrige Criteria. The consultants were Chris Hickey, M.A. of Orange, CA, Jim Joerger, Ed.D of Paris France, and Don Murray, Ph.D. of Eugene, OR. These three experts, with over 50 years of combined experience in building 360 assessments blended the best of the Baldrige Criteria with their own personal insights into leadership development to create and validate the RealTime Leadership Profile. The RealTime Leadership Profile is a simple and easy to use online leadership assessment and development process that helps managers in virtually any type of organization obtain useful and practical insight into their leadership capabilities.

Companies scoring highest on the Baldrige criteria are more likely to appear in the top quartile in their industry in terms of profit and growth. Similarly, individuals scoring highest on the RealTime Leadership Profile were found to correlate with leaders who are clearly recognized as receiving the highest performance ratings and delivering the best business results.

The Baldrige organization established a benchmark process to assess quality organizations. Similarly, RealTime Performance established a benchmark process to assess the embedded leadership behaviors found in high-performing organizations.
